We stayed in the historic Land’s End Hotel for a night, which is perched on a dramatic 60 metre cliff with incredible views out to the Atlantic Ocean – see my post about Land’s End. Here’s some great video footage, plus I’ve included a stock image at the end of our photos to show the landscape from the air.
The hotel was beautifully renovated, and our room was very comfortable with a view out to the moon rising over the ocean. In the morning we were spoiled with a full English breakfast in the elegant dining room overlooking the panoramic coastal views.
As well as being surrounded by clifftops to explore, the hotel has an activity area with mini golf, interactive 4D film games, a model village and a picnic area. As you can see our favourite bear friend Paddington also made an appearance again!
The hotel was originally built in 1854 and has been expanded and redeveloped since then. During World War II it became a military base for American troops, and was severely damaged by a Luftwaffe plane. It was abandoned for a period, then restored in 1953 as a holiday destination. Land’s End now attracts over 500,000 visitors annually.
