Twemlow Viaduct, Holmes Chapel (Harry Styles)

On our walking tour of Holmes Chapel, where Harry Styles grew up, we took a 20 minute trek to Twemlow Viaduct, just outside the village. Apparently Harry used to hang out here as a child.

Now known as 'Harry's Wall', Harry signed his name on the viaduct in the 2013 One Direction documentary This is Us. This instigated an inundation of fans visiting the viaduct to also sign their names, along with messages for Harry, so much so that to protect the structure, additional boards were installed for fans to sign (photo 6). Sienna left her mark of course!

This 180 year old viaduct stands about 25 metres tall – you can get an idea of its massive scale in the second photo. It is accessed by climbing a stile over a fence (another new experience – see third last photo) then walking along a public pathway through farmland. Fortunately there were no cows around on the day we visited!
