We stayed in Thatcher's Hotel overnight, a lovely old Tudor style hotel built in the 1930s. The complex has been recently renovated with modern, comfortable rooms.
It is nestled on the edge of the village of East Horsley and has open green fields at the back, forest on one side and the village on the other side. Bridie took this great photo of a bird on a fencepost in the back field.
We also spotted Horsley Towers just down the road, an 18th century manor that looked very interesting.
