On Saturday we had intended to explore the Scottish Highlands, including Glenfinnan Viaduct, Loch Ness, Eilean Donan Castle and Inverness, then stay in Dornoch. However we decided to stay in southern Scotland instead where Storm Amy was less severe.

This gave us the unexpected opportunity to explore Stirling, Falkirk and Bannockburn instead, and we were fortunate to find last minute accommodation in Linlithgow.
