Tower Bridge, London

We decided to take up the challenge of climbing the iconic Tower Bridge. The 206 step climb put us in good stead for our Eiffel Tower climb the following day! The bridge spans the Thames River and was constructed between 1886 and 1894.

The views across the city in all directions were breathtaking, and we especially enjoyed looking through the glass floors down to the peak hour traffic and ferries on the river.

We also walked past the Tower of London, built by William the Conqueror in 1070. The tower served as a prison for over 800 years, and was a royal residence for over 500 years.
